Leyton Orient FC- Coaches Clinic

Wednesday June 6th - Sprague Field Complex- 7.15pm

We are very excited to announce the second of our coaching nights with our partner club, Leyton Orient. On Wednesday June 6th at 7.15pm at Sprague complex we are very excited to be welcoming some very special people from the club. Please bring along your players for a chance to meet and greet both players and coaching staff from Leyton Orient. There will be an opportunity after the session to meet and greet at Morses Tavern for a question and answer session for all coaches and parents.

Here is the list of all coaches and players that will be in attendance at this great event.

 

Martin Ling is an English manager and former player, who was last the manager of Swindon Town in League One. He played in over 500 Football League and Premier League matches for Exeter City, Southend United, Swindon Town and Leyton Orient, before moving into management where he led Orient for over five years from 2003 until 2009. Now is the Leyton Orient Director of Football.

 

Lewis Spencer - Academy Manager is in his second spell with the East London Club. Spencer started his Academy coaching career at Cambridge United back in 2005. Spencer originally worked at Orient as a part time coach between 2007-09 before moving onto roles in the Women’s super league with Watford, Charlton and Millwall respectively. Spencer rejoined in August 2017 after coaching and teaching at Colchester United where he was the Head of Education and an age group coach. As well as a qualified teacher Spencer is also a tutor for the FA delivering coaching and Safe guarding courses at level 2.

 

Joel Joshua Frederick Melvin "Jobi" McAnuff (born 9 November 1981) is a professional footballer who plays for Leyton Orient. He is predominantly a winger but he has also played as an occasional central midfielder.

He began his career at Wimbledon, making over 100 appearances for the club before brief spells at West Ham United and Cardiff City. McAnuff joined Crystal Palacein 2005, spending two years there before moving again, this time to Watford before joining Reading in 2009. He was appointed captain in 2011 and went on to make over 200 appearances in all competition for the Royals. Prior to Reading's promotion to the Premier League in 2011- 2012 he had spent his entire career playing in England's second tier, amassing over 400 league appearances. He joined Leyton Orient in 2014.

Born in London, McAnuff has represented Jamaica, his father's country of birth, at international level. He made his debut in May 2002 although his next appearance did not come until nearly eleven years later in February 2013. He was part of their squads which won the 2014 Caribbean Cup and competed at the 2015 Copa America.

 

Joseph Widdowson (born 29 March 1989) is an English footballer who plays for Leyton Orient as a defender. He has previously played for  West Ham United, Rotherham United, Grimsby Town, Rochdale, Northampton Town and Dagenham and Redbridge.

 

Dean Michael Brill (born 2 December 1985) is an English professional footballer who plays as a GK and is the goalkeeping coach at Leyton Orient. Dean started his career and progressed through the Academy at Luton Town. Dean had subsequent loan spells at Oldham and Barnet before playing for Inverness in the Scottish Premier League. Dean moved back to England with a move to Colchester United before arriving at Brisbane Road in the summer of 2017 after a recommendation from Lewis Spencer.
