Goal and Net Safety

• Always inspect goals before each match and/or practice.

•Always ensure goals are secured with sand bags on back bar or sidebars

–6v6 turf goals 2 sand bags one each side

–Note the grass field 6v6 goals with spike do not need sand bags

–8v8 minimum 1 sand bag on back bar

–11v11 mimimum 2 sand bags on back bar

•Never allow anyone to climb or play on the goal or net

•Never allow anyone to hang on the goal crossbar (e.g. chin-ups)

•Movable goals should only be used on level (flat) fields.

•Instruct players on safe handling and potential dangers associated with movable goals.

–Coaches and/or parents should move goals; not youth players

–When moving wheels should be rotated to allow easy moving. When in place replace wheels so frame contacts ground.

–Push when ever possible, do not pull goals

–Do not move with sand bags on back bar however replace sand bags when moved
