What type of training is available for WUSC coaches?

WUSC Coach Training Resources provides you with age specific tips, a coach’s resource library and practice session ideas developed by Mass Youth Soccer. You can also contact your group coordinator regarding upcoming coach training programs offered through the WUSC.

How do I find out about a game cancellation due to weather?

The WUSC website will be updated frequently to let you know if Wellesley fields are open.  Also, the league will send you a communication via e-mail when the fields are closed.  If you coach a travel team and are playing an away game you should be in direct communication with the opposing team’s coach regarding field conditions.  Contact information for BAYS travel team coaches can be found on the BAYS travel team website.

What do I do if I need to reschedule a game?

If it is an in-town league game one of the coaches will need to schedule a field and secure a referee (3rd grade and BAYS) by contacting WUSC referee and field coordinator Judi LucarelliIf you are a BAYS travel team coach you will be responsible for scheduling the home field and referee using the same process.

How do I reserve a turf field to practice on?

You can view a Wellesley field schedule by clicking on Practice Field Guidelines  and by using the WUSC online scheduling option.

How many practice sessions should I hold per week?

Your group coordinator will provide you specifics details regarding the number of practice sessions you should be holding per week based on the age group that you are coaching.

Who do I contact if I want to be a coach?

Typically you will volunteer for coaching during the registration process when signing up a child for WUSC participation.  If you would like to inquire about being a coach please contact the appropriate coordinator for the age group you wish to work with.
