Wellesley youth soccer would like to provide you with a better understanding of our programs. Our catalog page is a brief summary of what we offer and to find out more information you can visit the individual program pages to learn more. If you have any questions regarding any of the programs you should contact one of the program coordinators found on each program page.

KINDERKICK for kindergarteners

Format: Recreational in format
FALL

When: Fall - Saturday mornings 8:30 - 9:30 am.
Details:
Run by Director of Coaching Tom Goodman.
Parent volunteers needed to help run sessions.

 

SPRING - Format is under consideration, tba Dec. 2011

Spring 2011
When:
Spring 2011 - 5 Wednesday afternoons in May (1:00 – 2:00 p.m.)
Details:
Coaches training - 1 ½ hour session in late April
Coordinators needed at each school. No set teams - done at each elementary school

Registration: Registration via online system- Fall starts in June, deadline Aug 31, Spring starts in January, deadline is April 1.

1st Grade (Fall and Spring)

Format: 3 v 3

When: Sunday 1 hour session only - 30 min. practice, 30 min. game girls play 2-3pm, boys play 3:30-4:30pm

Details: Teams (6 players each) assigned to a coach

Registration: Registration via online system - deadline June 10 for Fall season, Jan 15 for Spring season

2nd Grade (Fall and Spring)

Format: 4 v 4

When: Sunday 1 hour session only - 30 min. practice, 30 min. game, girls play 2-3pm, boys play 3:30-4:30pm

Details:Teams (8 players each) assigned to a coach
Coaches training – 1 1/2 session at coaches meeting
G License course offered (4 hrs.)

Registration: Registration via online system - deadline June 10 for Fall season, Jan. 15 for Spring season

3rd Grade (Fall and Spring)

Format: In-town 6v6 recreational league

When: Saturday games / additional practice during week. Girls play on Sat. morning, boys play in afternoon

Details: Balanced teams

Registration: Registration via online system - deadline June 10 and Jan. 15.

4th Grade (Fall and Spring)

Format: All teams play in BAYS travel league - teams play 6 v 6

Details: Two stratified teams and the remainder balanced, selective tryouts held in spring of grade 3 for following year.

Registration: Registration via online system - deadline late May and mid November

5th - 6th Grade

Format: BAYS travel league - teams play 8 v 8

Details: One or two stratified teams and the remainder even, selective tryouts held in spring for following fall/spring year

Registration: Registration via online system - deadline late May and mid November

7th - 8th Grade

Format: All teams play in BAYS travel league - teams play 11 v 11

Details: One or two stratified teams and the remainder even, selective tryouts held in May for following fall/spring year.

Coaches training - E, D License courses offered

Registration: Registration via online system - deadline late May and mid November

9th Grade and UP (U16/U18)

Format: BAYS travel league offered only in Spring - teams play 11 v 11 

Details: Teams are based on playing ability more than school grade and availability is dependent on number of players/coaches who sign up. 
Coaches training - E, D License courses offered

Registration: Registration via online system - deadline is March 1
