WPL Club 2006

Registration is now open for the 2021/22 Wellesley Premier League Club season for players born in 2006! 

The WPL 2006 program is for players born in 2006 who would like to play at a highly competitive league play level through weekend play in the New England Club Soccer League (NECSL) in the WPL Club program.  Teams will train 2 times a week for an hour and 15 minutes and will play games on Sunday afternoons. 

WPL Club team signups are open to all players (although placement is not guaranteed.) A player is selected to a team based on a number of criteria including the player’s age, ability, previous WPL Club coach’s feedback and an assessment session.

Pricing Options

Option 1 –  Winter/Spring

Sign up for Option 1  by registering here  and click on ‘WPL Club’ before selecting your child’s birth year. Your child must be registered for WPL Club to attend the tryouts. 

Practice Schedule/Game Schedule:
Every WPL Club practice will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings this Fall and Spring season across the town of Wellesley.  Games are played either home or away on Sundays in both the Fall and Spring.  Each team will practice 75 minutes per session, 2 times a week. WPL Club players are expected to attend all team practices and games. The winter sessions begin in January and goes through the month of March, information will be sent out later this year and these practices may be on different days to the Fall and Spring schedule. Some teams may also choose to participate in a Futsal league at an additional cost.
 
Tournaments
In 2021/22, WPL club teams will participate in a variety of local and regional tournaments. Teams may play 2-4 tournaments per year, depending upon the age group and competitive level of the team. Every WPL club player will be expected to participate in their team’s tournament. This is an additional cost.
 *Coaches may enter individual team(s) in a one-time only specific tournament and/or participate in tournaments that are annual events or involve the entire club.
 
Team Placement/Roster 
The number of teams formed in an age group will depend on the number of players who register and their ability levels. Should their be a need for a second team, these teams are tiered (according to ability) as an ’A’ team and a  ’B’ team.
Players are selected to the appropriate team based on a number of criteria including the player’s birth year, ability, previous WPL Club coach’s feedback and their tryout performance.
2012 - Teams 7 vs. 7 game format
2011 - 2010 - Teams 9 vs. 9 game format
2009 - 2006 - Teams 11 vs. 11 game format
 
IMPORTANT TO NOTE:  In order to be eligible to play on a WPL club team, all players must participate in the 2 days of the WPL club program every week, as well as their town practice and game (WUSC in-town and Bays) and the WPL Club team Sunday game.  If your son or daughter cannot make a consistent commitment to the WPL Club and Wellesley Town Soccer due to other conflicts or activities, then signing up for the WPL Club team would not be an appropriate option for your player.

Refund Policy:  Full refund (less $30 admin fee) up to 48 hours after teams are announced, 50% refund up to Aug. 5, no refund after Aug. 5th.  If a player is not placed on a team a full refund will be issued.  If a player is selected as a practice player, a partial refund will be issued.
