WELLESLEY INVITATIONAL U-10 TOURNAMENT - 3 STEP REGISTRATION
1. ONLINE REGISTRATION: Registration for 2013 is open and login problem is resolved.
The Wellesley United Soccer Club is pleased to announce its 32nd Annual Memorial Day Weekend Tournament to be held on May 25 & 26, 2013. This is a sanctioned 6v6 tournament, held under the auspices of the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association. The tournament is limited to teams comprised of girls and boys under 10 years of age (born after 7/31/02) who are playing in U9 or U10 Division 1 or 2. Each year, 48 U-10 teams from communities throughout and beyond New England have participated, and we anticipate a diverse group of teams again this year. Wellesley is located 20 minutes west of Boston, and all games will be played at the Sprague Field Complex.
Rosters will be limited to twelve (12) players (exceptions allowed upon tournament director approval). All teams must consist solely of players registered with that town for league play. This year applications from all-star and club teams will accepted. FIFA rules will apply. In keeping with the non-results-oriented philosophy that MYSA has adopted for all U-10 play, all teams will play six 40 minute games (20 minutes per half with 5 minutes at half) structured as follows: on the first day of the tournament, teams will be separated into pools of relatively equal competitiveness. The teams will be re-distributed for the second day of play to facilitate more equitable and competitive play. This will provide the greatest opportunity for all teams to enjoy a positive competitive experience. Trophies will be awarded to all participants. Patches will be exchanged by all teams after every game. Each team will be required to have at least two (2) responsible adults in charge at every game.

The fee is $450. We urge you to apply as early as possible. The due date for applications is April 30, 2013. Application does not guarantee acceptance. Acceptance notices will be emailed in early May. Registration fees, minus a $25 credit card processing fee (if applicable), will be returned promptly to those teams that are not accepted. Once acceptance is emailed, the registration fee becomes non-refundable. Check with tournament directors directly at any time about any concerns about registration status and acceptance.

2. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Supplemental information that is required:
1- A typed list of your tournament player names should be emailed to the boys or girls tournament director by April 30.
2- A medical release form for each player on your team - bring these to the check-in on Friday night.
3. TOURNAMENT CHECK- IN Friday May 24, 7:00-8:00 pm
Registration will be held on Friday, May 24th from 7:00 – 8:00 pm at the Wellesley Community Center on Route 16 which is also known as Washington Street. From Route 128, take the Route 16 exit to Wellesley. The Community Center is 1.3 miles from the exit on the right at 219 Washington Street.
Please bring the following information with you to registration:
- Fully completed ROSTER that certifies your players' birth dates (i.e., a MA Youth Soccer or League roster is sufficient) signed by your club's registrar
- Medical Release forms for each player
- Your cell phone number and/or local contact information for communication during the weekend
The registration desk will be staffed by the Directors with whom you have been speaking these last few weeks and we all look forward to meeting you then. We will hand you a supply of tournament program books as well as a bag with your trophies that you can hand out at the end of the tournament at a time of your choosing. See you on Friday night.
Please be sure to bring the following with you to all of your games:
- Patches : this is a "patch" tournament where town soccer patches will be exchanged with the opposing team after every game. Since you will play six games over the course of the weekend, we recommend bringing at least 75 patches to be safe.
- Pinnies : "home" teams (those listed first on the schedule) are required to bring, and wear, pinnies in case of a shirt-color conflict.
This tournament has proven in the past to be a thoroughly enjoyable experience for players and their families. We are dedicated to making this year's tournament every bit as successful. We hope that you will be able to join us.
