Wellesley United - Costa Rica - Cleat Drive

This Saturday 13th November Wellesley United will be holding a cleat drive at Sprague from 10-Noon. We will also be accepting used shin guards, pinnies, cones and balls (preferably already deflated).  All of the equipment will then be sent to Costa Rica where a family who recently played for Wellesley United Soccer and WPL Club currently live.

Here is a little information on where the equipment will be going:

The girls are playing for Villarreal football club located in the North West part of the country. There is a shortage of equipment here for local youth players.  Cleats in particular are hard to find and too expensive for many local kids. If players don’t have cleats they often quit because they feel awkward. Any and all equipment with be used regardless of condition (for boys and girls as teams are co-ed)—cleats, balls, shin guards, pinnies, cones, deflated balls, etc.  All of the equipment will be distributed by the coaches Andres and Jason at Villarreal FC to local kids.

If you have any questions please reach out to Lewis at premierleague@wellesleysoccer.org
